TBT Productions goes through Expansion

>> Tuesday, March 15, 2011

With the official losses of True Black Television and TBT: The Magazine, the final original portion of TBT Entertainment Group, TBT Productions, is still going strong. In order for TBT Entertainment Group to move forward, TBT Productions will be the primary catalyst. Several companies have come to the company in need of promotional videos and commercials. In addition to outside companies, TBT Production will also be doing work for many subsidiaries of TBT Entertainment Group.

This year, TBT Productions will be working with several companies, including Black Rolling Stones, InFocus magazine, and TBT Publications. Videos will be released through the internet and posted to several sites over the next few months. As the year progresses, more work from TBT Productions will be available on the official website. The biggest deal of 2011 will come through TBT Productions' long-term deal with Whyte T, the first video was released in late December.

Outside of video production, TBT Productions has entered several ventures in event promotion. The partnerships include Paul Blak Productions and Fortified Records, opening doors for TBT Entertainment Group in Florida and Connecticut.

Partnership with Black Rolling Stones Enterprises official

Ever since last fall, TBT Entertainment Group has been working with Black Rolling Stones Enterprises, a company based in New York City. Black Rolling Stones is similar to TBT Entertainment Group in many ways, as the company has a film division, along with clothing and music. In September, the two companies began discussion about working some sort of deal out.

Following six months of discussion, a deal has finally been worked out. TBT Entertainment Group will be handling all of the promotional needs for Black Rolling Stones Enterprises. Hip Hop Vibe will be the primary catalyst in this new venture. Black Rolling Stones' record label's primary artist is A-Thug and his work will be promoted on Hip Hop Vibe.

Megastar Films is the film division of the company and TBT Entertainment Group will handle all of the distribution and promotion for the company. Music videos produced by Megastar will be played on Hip Hop Vibe and promoted on other TBT-owned sites. The End of TBT: The Magazine

Sometimes, in order to grow, pounds need to be shed. Three years ago, TBT Entertainment Group was founded with True Black Television, TBT: The Magazine, and TBT Productions. But, with the state of the economy, none of these ventures were met with much success. Because of this, TBT Entertainment Group was forced into much manuevering, which included the addition of Hip Hop Vibe and other sites to the company.

During the summer of 2010, Hip Hop Vibe and JR, The Black Entertainment Guide rose to the forefront of the company. TBT: The Magazine was reformatted to become TBT News Network. Despite having a large following, it has not been working out for the company. Because of this, the TBT magazine branch is officially defunct. For the past four months, the website has been inactive and the links were taken off the other TBT sites.

Possibly, in the future, a similar venture may be launched but the TBT informational sites are officially discontinued. However, a bigger plan is in store for the other sites run by TBT Publications.

Hip Hop Vibe makes more moves

>> Saturday, August 28, 2010

Nearly one year ago, Hip Hop Vibe was launched to provide a professional outlet to report hip hop news as most sites were more focused on jokes and opinion than news. Along the way, Hip Hop Vibe has experienced tremendous success. Not even one year old yet and this site is changing the way the game of hip hop is being played.

Towards the start of July 2010, Hip Hop Vibe opened the online store and landed a deal with Made Men Apparel. Following the deal with Made Men Apparel, Hip Hop Vibe landed a deal with Tha Hate Club Entertainment and their music is now available for sale, too in the store. Recently, Hip Hop Vibe also landed a deal with Royal Gear Clothing and they will be selling more TBT products soon.

Outside of simple retail, Hip Hop Vibe is coming out with yet another section fresh off the success of the video section. Coming on September 6, 2010 will be the very first "Hottie of the Week" and a full day celebrating Rick Ross. All Rick Ross videos all day long on Hip Hop Vibe and a few of the hotties will be featured on the streets of Miami.

Also, Hip Hop Vibe is more interactive with their fans and the artists and models featured on the site. It is easier than ever to get your dreams out there with Hip Hop Vibe.

Fo' Sho is back with a New Format

>> Wednesday, July 21, 2010

In February of 2010, Fo' Sho joined TBT Entertainment Group, but the site did not have a specific niche. It was initially an experimental site, but was the most-popular site within the company, at one point. By the time March Madness rolled around, Fo' Sho had emerged as a basketball website and did very well with the frequent posting of NBA news.

However, as April rolled around and the 2010 NBA Playoffs were just getting started, the audience fell out of love with Fo' Sho and the writers grew uninterested in the site. A tough decision was made by the parent company, TBT Entertainment Group, to leave the site. During the afternoon of April 30, 2010, it was made clear that Fo' Sho would go on hiatus.

During the two months off, the company searched long and hard for a new theme for Fo' Sho, one that actually goes along with the name. The decision was made in June 2010 to bring the site back in the middle of the night right before July 21, 2010 as a fashion/urban culture online magazine. This was the reason for the change in website design and links to clothing lines.

Check out the new and improved Fo' Sho here.

Mario "D-Bo" Tolliver accepts role as Senior Sports Writer for TBT Entertainment Group

>> Sunday, July 11, 2010

For the past week, TBT: The Magazine online has featured an influx of sports articles coming from Mario "D-Bo" Tolliver. This was initially a trial run to see how the people would accept articles from Tolliver. After a lengthy review and a warm reception, Tolliver has been hired on as the head sports writer for the overall TBT Publications branch. Effective immediately, Tolliver will be over sports articles for both versions of TBT: The Magazine and the sports articles for JR, The Black Entertainment Guide.

The deal comes as no surprise because TBT Publications was in need of sports writers. Tolliver, a former athlete, himself, is very happy for the opportunity. He follows almost all sports and loves to talk about sports in his free time. The Virginia native is glad he finally has an outlet for his love of sports. With the addition of Tolliver to the team comes the "TBT: The Magazine Sports Report." Each week, Tolliver will offer a weekly wrap-up of all sports.

Tolliver has quickly become popular with readers after he reported the news of LeBron James signing with the Miami Heat. Expect the Senior Sports Writer to continue to follow the story as it develops. On a personal level, the news is interesting to him, so it is not hard for him to come with the news on a frequent basis. While Tolliver has been locked in as the Senior Sports Writer for TBT Publications, other sports writers will soon be added to the team.

Expect Tolliver to also write in the print version of TBT: The Magazine.

TBT Publications online prepares to Revamp

>> Monday, May 17, 2010

Once again, major changes are set to take place within TBT Publications. With the print version of TBT: The Magazine back in action and set to come out soon, major changes will be made to the online version of the magazine. Launched over two years ago, TBT: The Magazine has gone through multiple changes in the past, but has remained the flagship of TBT Publications. The only natural move was for the magazine to launch in print with hopes of becoming the TIME magazine of black America.

Although TBT: The Magazine online has become quite popular, the format is going to change quite a bit. The initial aim of TBT: The Magazine was to become an extension of True Black Television. But, there is a bigger void that needs to be filled. The print version of TBT: The Magazine will remain as that extension of True Black Television, but the online version is going to have very big changes ahead. No longer will the magazine simply put out articles that deal with black issues, politics, television, sports, music, and movies.

Now, the focus will be on the overall black community reporting news from all over the world. Still, the online version is for black America, but black news from around the world will be reported. No longer will the focus simply be a magazine, instead, it will become the CNN of the black community. Finally, Black American Reality will get some action because of this. B.A.R. will become the opinion column of TBT: The Magazine as their writers prepare the response and analysis of the news and stories of TBT: The Magazine.

No longer will TBT: The Magazine report on "Television," "Music," and "Movies," because JR's focus is black entertainment. So, now TBT: The Magazine will simply have a new tab for "Entertainment." A bit of an expansion will take place at TBT: The Magazine, but it will become the online guide for everything black in America.
